A message for all 2006 Party Guests - The Marriott is now asking us for full payment and we would like to remind anyone who has not yet paid to kindly do so as soon as possible as there is a waiting list for party tickets !

Moonraker Events are proud to be able to announce that Rick is rounding off 2006, and indeed his solo touring career, by performing 2 special concerts at the Marlborough College Memorial Hall on Friday 15^th & Saturday 16^th December 2006.

This year’s shows will also include special guests and details of these will be announced on Rick’s website, www.rwcc.com in the near future.

You may also have been offered the opportunity to join Rick and his fans at a Christmas lunch in Marlborough last year. This year, we are holding a Christmas Party lunch with Rick in Swindon at midday on Saturday 16^th at The Marriott Hotel.

This is a rare chance to see Rick at an informal function where you will be able to enjoy a traditional 3 course Christmas lunch with Rick and also watch him play a few light hearted numbers on the keyboard. A sort of ‘mayhem’ really. Last year Father Christmas turned up and handed out presents to the children who had been dragged along by their parents.

Rick announced on his website last year that he was retiring from solo touring at the end of 2006 and so this weekend will be very special indeed.

One of our regular Wakeman attendees at Marlborough is Roger Lovelock. Roger has just won the 2006 European Formula 1 Sidecar Championship. Roger in action at Thruxton circuit on October 7th 2006. Roger and his family will be attending the concert.

 

Last year's Christmas Show was based around Rick performing on a grand piano as well as having a few keyboards scattered about here and there for variation. There was the odd celebrity guest appearing on stage from time to time but the biggest highlight was when Rick is joined by three other keyboardists whom he knows pretty well! Two of his sons Oliver and Adam and Jemma, one of his daughters. They in turn were joined by a school choir to do a selection of Christmas carols. There were be special arrangements allowing them to each show off their varying skills between each of the choir carols as well...and the unexpected. The Saturday Christmas Party was attended by over 200 people. The Saturday Concert was a complete sell out. The Sunday Concert was almost a sell out. Almost £1,100 was raised for the Grand Order of Water Rats in Care Homes at the Christmas Party.
